Bihar State Khadi Gramodhyog Board came in to existance with the foundation of Bihar State from the last five decades. Board is trying to help rural people partially by providing employment at their door steps.
The motive of Board is to publicize Khadi and its activities to keep their inspiration source in local market and to let people live with proud by self employment.
Bihar State Khadi Gramodhyog Board helps people and registered organizations economically under different schemes of Government. Board's one objective is to educate and inform rural mass about cottage industries and technical guidance.
SOCIAL OBJECTIVE
Side by side different programs like old age education, children education, drinking water facilities, residential facilities and other social programs are being organized by us to improve the earning along with social status of the workers. Through our old age literacy program 1800 males and females have been provided elementary education. Four organized weaver colonies were developed and majority of weavers have got residential facility. The children of the weavers are provided education assistance so as to create an understanding of importance of education.
Even as today 50 boys and girls are obtaining education through this organization. Apart from this encouragement of committed development programs, construction of classrooms for education in 5 schools, 2 Gandhi Cultural Stages, mother child care centres, medical centres, library for the development of villages that are developed by our organization. To spread awakening in those villages who were suppressed from centuries due to orthodox social beliefs, social gatherings and spinning events are organized through which Gandhi Vinoba thoughts are spread.
ECONOMIC OBJECTIVE
Due to increase in sales of Khadi it was obvious that employment will increase. Today in each sub-centre every 7th person is getting full or part time employment through our organization. Amongst these 63% workers are from poor and backward schedule classes. They are not only getting employment but are leading a respectful social life and experiencing a new light of hope and development. All these workers are provided facilities of drinking water, residence and medical facilities. Their Children are getting education assistantship etc.
